Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho reportedly rules out a January exit for Harry Winks after the midfielder impressed him over the festive period.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly ruled out the possibility of Harry Winks leaving the club this month.

Following Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's impressive performances after his arrival from Southampton, Winks has been pushed down the pecking order at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 24-year-old has been handed starts in Spurs' last two fixtures against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United, but he has only taken to the pitch in the Premier League on seven occasions in total this season.

Despite reported interest from Valencia, the Daily Mail claims that Mourinho is not giving any thought to a potential departure after Winks stepped up his game over the festive period.

While Winks is set to stay put in North London, the report adds that Tottenham are prepared to entertain offers for out-of-favour duo Danny Rose and Paulo Gazzaniga during the January transfer window.

Winks's compatriot Dele Alli has also found himself frozen out of the team for large parts of the season, but Spurs are supposedly not willing to let him head for the exit door this month either.
