Real Madrid will reportedly battle Paris Saint-Germain for Paul Pogba's signature if the midfielder leaves Manchester United.

Real Madrid will reportedly battle Paris Saint-Germain for Paul Pogba's signature, with the midfielder widely expected to leave Manchester United on a free transfer next year.

The France international starred in his side's 5-1 win over Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday, providing four assists, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team made a strong start to the campaign.

Pogba's contract at Old Trafford is due to expire next June, though, and it is believed that the midfielder is considering running down the deal before leaving on a free transfer.

PSG are said to be firmly in the race for the World Cup winner, but according to AS, Real Madrid will 'study the option' to sign Pogba if he decides to leave Man United.

The report claims that the 28-year-old would choose Los Blancos over PSG if given the option, although the French outfit's greater financial power could see them place a superior deal on the table.

Pogba has already previously left the Red Devils on a free transfer, running down his contract with the 20-time English champions before joining Juventus in 2012.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently said that Solskjaer's team were still hopeful of convincing the Frenchman to sign a new deal at the club.
