Manchester United 'set deadline for Paul Pogba deal'

Manchester United reportedly tell Real Madrid that they will not sell Paul Pogba at any price after the end of the English transfer window on August 8.

Manchester United have reportedly told Real Madrid that they will not consider selling Paul Pogba after the end of the British transfer window on August 8.

Pogba has confirmed his desire to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Madrid understood to be his preferred destination despite interest also coming from Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Los Blancos are struggling to meet United's £150m asking price for the France international, having already spent more than £300m on new arrivals this summer.

Recent reports suggested that Madrid plan to wait until the closing stages of the transfer window before opening official talks, but The Mirror claims that United have now warned the Spanish giants that they will not sell at any price after August 8.

English clubs will not be able to bring in any new faces beyond that date but are free to sell players to foreign clubs, with the La Liga transfer deadline not until September 2.

However, United are not willing to even entertain the idea of letting Pogba leave the club unless they would have time to bring in a top-class replacement this summer.
