Liverpool are reportedly given a boost in their pursuit of Jeremy Doku after Rennes struck a deal for fellow teenage attacker Kamaldeen Sulemana.

Liverpool have supposedly been handed a boost in their pursuit of Rennes' Jeremy Doku.

The 19-year-old only played a bit-part role during Belgium's Euro 2020 campaign, but he caught the eye during his two starts and claimed an assist in their quarter-final defeat to Italy.

Doku also featured 37 times in all competitions during his debut season with Rennes last term, but Les Rouge et Noir have strengthened their options out wide with the signing of fellow teenager Kamaldeen Sulemana.

With Rennes thought to be preparing for the departure of Doku by swooping for Sulemana, The Express speculates that Liverpool could now make their move for the Belgian.

The report adds that Jurgen Klopp has identified the teenager as an ideal replacement for Sadio Mane, who has been linked with a move elsewhere as he enters the final two years of his Liverpool contract.

Doku's deal at Rennes is not due to expire until the summer of 2025, meanwhile, and the former Anderlecht man registered two goals and three assists in Ligue 1 last season.
