Paul Gascoigne 'signs up for Italian version of I'm A Celebrity'

Paul Gascoigne reportedly joins the cast of the new series of Italy's version of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Paul Gascoigne has reportedly joined the lineup for the Italian version of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

Known locally as Isola de Famosi, which translates as 'Island of the Famous', the new series is due to be filmed in Honduras next month.

Former footballer Gazza, who has a history of alcohol problems, is a popular figure in Italy due to his stint turning out for Lazio in the mid-'90s.

"Getting Gascoigne has been hard work but will be worth it," a source told The Sun.

"He's such a character. He is the biggest star of the show. He passed all his tests while in isolation in Italy. No issues were uncovered so he'll fly to Honduras with the others next weekend.

"The fact communication may be an issue will all add to the reality of being stranded on a desert island."

The show will air on Mediaset, a broadcaster owned by controversial ex-prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.
