Silvio Berlusconi 'wants Kaka, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli at Monza'

Silvio Berlusconi is reportedly looking at the possibility of signing Kaka, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli for Serie B side AC Monza.

Silvio Berlusconi is reportedly looking at the possibility of signing Kaka, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli for Serie B side Monza.

The former Italian prime minister, who bought Monza in 2018 after owning AC Milan for over 30 years, is planning on signing at least three high-profile players to add to his side who were recently crowned champions of Serie C, following the cancellation of the 2019-20 campaign.

The 83-year-old has revealed his desire to sign three of his former employees, whom he believes could help guide Monza to the Italian top flight.

"We are thinking of four or five reinforcements. I am very optimistic that we can also win the Serie B championship and Kaka may be one of them," Berlusconi told Italian outlet Telelombardia.

When asked about the possibility of signing Ibrahimovic, Berlusconi added: "It was a goal for us and, for non-sporting reasons, we had to give up. But you should never say never. We will keep trying."

Thirty-eight-year-old Kaka, who was signed twice by Berlusconi and helped Milan win the 2003-04 Serie A title as well as the 2006-07 Champions League, has been retired from football since 2017 when he finished his career with Major League Soccer side Orlando City.

Ibrahimovic, who re-signed for Milan in December, has scored a total of 60 goals in 95 appearances during two spells with the club, while former Manchester City striker Balotelli is reportedly set to have his contract with Brescia terminated after ongoing disputes with club owner Massimo Cellino.
