Further details emerge about former Hollyoaks star Jacob Roberts's Coronation Street role.

Former Hollyoaks star Jacob Roberts will reportedly be playing the secret son of Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) in Coronation Street.

Last week it emerged that Roberts - Damon Kinsella on the C4 soap between 2017 and 2023 - had been filming on Corrie for some time and his character would somehow be connected to the ongoing storyline involving the disappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

In this week's episodes, Bernie's ex Denny (Danny Cunningham) - the father of twins Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and terminally-ill Paul (Peter Ash) - arrives in Weatherfield to reconnect with his estranged family, and The Sun says that a secret son will soon be joining them too.

A source told the newspaper: "Jacob will be playing Bernie's secret son - his dad, Denny, was abusive to him and Bernie.

"So when her son appears, she's worried he is a chip off the old block and has something to do with Lauren's disappearance."

Roberts is expected to make his on-screen debut next month.
