Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly giving consideration to making bids for Atletico Madrid duo Jan Oblak and Yannick Carrasco.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Atletico Madrid duo Jan Oblak and Yannick Carrasco as potential future signings.

Spurs have just enjoyed a relatively productive January transfer window, signing Sporting Lisbon wing-back Pedro Porro and Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma.

However, head coach Antonio Conte has frequently spoken about Spurs being required to sign more players in order to become challengers for the Premier League title.

With the North London outfit having lost seven of their 21 top-flight fixtures in 2022-23 to sit three points away from the top four, it will be perceived that there is arguably some truth to Conte's demands.

According to Marca, there is scope for Spurs conducting further business with their counterparts at Atletico.

Over the past two windows, Spurs have allowed Sergio Reguilon to move to Wanda Metrpolitano on a season-long loan deal, while Matt Doherty's contract was recently terminated by mutual consent so that he could also move to the Spanish capital.

The report suggests that the prospect of goalkeeper Oblak and versatile wide player Carrasco may become a realistic possibility ahead of 2023-24.

Although Hugo Lloris has been the long-term number one at Spurs, the Frenchman's place is in doubt due to a number of errors made between the sticks.

The France international is also 36 years of age and Spurs will be required to sign a replacement at some point in the future.

While Oblak only recently extended his contract until 2028, the 30-year-old is one of Atletico's most prized assets and would significantly boost the club's books if he were to leave in the summer.

Meanwhile, Carrasco is, in theory, an ideal player for Conte with the Belgium international able to play in either wing-back position or further forward.

Ivan Perisic has taken on a similar role in the squad this campaign, but the Croatian legend has just turned 34 years of age.

Despite Barcelona possessing an option to sign Carrasco at the end of the season, that is far from a certainty due to the ongoing financial issues at the La Liga leaders.
