Boubakary Soumare to leave Lille amid Liverpool, Manchester United talk

Lille president Gerard Lopez suggests that midfielder Boubakary Soumare is likely to leave the French outfit this summer.

President Gerard Lopez has revealed that the "door is open" for Boubakary Soumare to leave Lille this summer.

Having made an impression in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, Soumare was linked with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United during the January window.

While no move materialised at the beginning of 2020, Lopez has said that he is happy for the 21-year-old to join a new club, providing that a bid meets his valuation.

Speaking to Telefoot Chaine, Lopez said: "I am going to sit down with the players and their entourages this week.

"We need to sit down with the players and speak. In terms of Boubakary, as we play with two in the midfield... The door is open if he wants to leave. We have had important offers from clubs where he did not want to go.

"All three parties have to agree for a transfer to occur. He's quite impatient to play and that's normal. It shows ambition. He will undoubtedly leave the club, the door is open. We have concrete offers. We will talk in the coming days."

Soumare has only featured for eight minutes in Lille's opening two Ligue 1 fixtures of the season.
