Paul Pogba 'fully committed to Manchester United'

Paul Pogba reportedly tells Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he is fully committed to the project at Manchester United despite stating that he wanted to leave in June.

Paul Pogba has reportedly told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he is fully committed to the Norwegian's project at Manchester United despite stating that he wanted to leave in June.

The Frenchman, who rejoined United for £89m in 2016, told reporters over the summer that he wanted a "new challenge" elsewhere - a notion underscored later by his agent Mino Raiola.

Since then, Pogba has not spoken about his future and played an influential role in United's successful pre-season tour of Australia and Asia.

According to The Mirror, the 25-year-old has made assurances to Solskjaer that he would no longer press for a move to Real Madrid during a series of frank conversations between the pair over pre-season.

Pogba, who was stripped of the vice-captaincy under Jose Mourinho, has been told by Solskjaer that he is a serious candidate to captain the side when Ashley Young is not on the pitch.

The midfielder is no longer pushing for a move to the Bernabeu this summer and has reportedly responded positively to Solskjaer's insistence that he can serve as a mentor for the next generation of youngsters coming into the United first team.
