Barcelona pull out of the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, according to a report.

Barcelona have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The France international's contract at Old Trafford is due to expire next June, and it is unlikely that he will be penning an extension with the 20-time English champions.

A number of clubs, including Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, are said to be keen on the World Cup winner, while Barcelona have also been consistently credited with an interest.

However, according to Sport, the Catalan giants have dropped their interest in the 28-year-old, with the club not prepared to offer the midfielder a substantial wage packet due to their financial problems.

The report claims that the La Liga side are instead preparing to focus on more attainable players, with Manchester City's Ferran Torres a leading target ahead of the January transfer window.

Pogba, who has "many offers" according to his agent Mino Raiola, has not played for Man United since October due to a thigh problem, and he has recently been in Dubai recovering from the injury.
