Manchester United defender Harry Maguire returns to England training ahead of their Euro 2020 opener against Croatia, after recovering from an ankle injury.

Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire has returned to England training ahead of their Euro 2020 opener against Croatia on Sunday.

The 28-year-old has not played since May 9 when he sustained an ankle injury against Aston Villa, but Gareth Southgate included him in the 26-strong England squad in the hope that he can return to fitness in time for the tournament.

Maguire was the only player to miss England's open training session on Wednesday, however all players took to the training pitch at St George's Park on Thursday.

Sky Sports News reports that it remains to be known whether Maguire will be fit enough to start for England on Sunday, but his inclusion in training has given him the opportunity to make the squad for the Croatia game.

Fellow senior member of Southgate's squad Jordan Henderson is also an injury doubt, although he did participate in England's win against Romania last weekend.

England are in Group D for Euro 2020 and will face Scotland and Czech Republic after Croatia on Sunday at Wembley.
