Fulham have signed goalkeeper Steven Benda from Swansea City for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on an initial three-year contract, with the option of a further year on top of that.

Benda becomes Fulham's second signing of the week after Timothy Castagne, and their fifth signing of the summer, with Calvin Bassey, Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore having also joined.

However, the keeper will have to wait for his debut at Craven Cottage as he is currently recovering from an injury.

"I'm really happy. It's a massive club with a lot of history and tradition, so I'm really happy to be here," he told the club's official website.

"Just look at this stadium, and the club itself, playing for Marco Silva, it was a very easy decision."

Vice-chairman Tony Khan added: "I'm pleased to welcome Steven Benda to Fulham.

"He's a talented young goalkeeper, and while he's currently recovering from injury, we've monitored him for some time and believe that he'll be a valuable addition to Marco's squad upon his return."

Benda had established himself as Swansea's number one goalkeeper last season before suffering a serious knee injury in January.

The shot-stopper is expected to be sidelined for most of the rest of the calendar year.
