Conference Premier roundup: Barnet strike late against Welling United

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday afternoon's action in the Conference Premier as leaders Barnet maintain their nine-point advantage with a win at Welling United.

Barnet have maintained their nine-point advantage at the top of the Conference Premier table after a late John Akinde goal earned the Bees a 2-1 victory away at Welling United.

Joe Healy had cancelled out an early Akinde strike, but the 25-year-old found the back of the net for the 11th time this season to earn the Londoners a third win in a row.

Gateshead have moved into second position after two goals from Rob Ramshaw, the second of which came in added-on time, earned them a 2-1 win at Aldershot Town.

Halifax Town drop to third after a goalless draw at Wrexham, while Bristol Rovers are fourth after an Ollie Clarke strike was enough for them to see off bottom side AFC Telford United.

Woking make up the top five after a stalemate at Braintree Town, but Forest Green Rovers secured a point in dramatic circumstances after netting three times in the final 21 minutes to draw with Lincoln City.

Grimsby Town have made a move up the standings after easily seeing off Dartford, while Eastleigh extended their unbeaten home record to 10 matches after holding off a late fightback from Chester FC to win by a 3-2 scoreline.

At the bottom of the table, Alfreton Town climbed to 22nd with a 1-0 triumph at Altrincham, with that success seeing them overtake Nuneaton Town, who drew 1-1 with Macclesfield Town.

Torquay United have dropped down to 12th place after losing 2-0 to Kidderminster Harriers, and the other encounter from Saturday afternoon saw Southport and Dover Athletic play out a 2-2 draw.
