Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up in Sunday's La Liga contest with Girona.

Barcelona head coach Xavi could name an unchanged side for Sunday's La Liga contest with Girona.

The reigning champions will enter the match against the team currently second in the table off the back of a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid on home soil last weekend.

Barcelona did not suffer any fresh problems during the match, but Inigo Martinez picked up a hamstring problem in the warm-up, and he is now set to be out until January.

Marcos Alonso could overcome a slight foot issue to return to the squad, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen has undergone an operation on a back injury, so Inaki Pena will continue between the sticks.

Gavi will also be missing for the remainder of the campaign due to a serious knee problem.

Xavi is set to select the same XI that took to the field for the first whistle against Atletico, with Andreas Christensen expected to be the player to again benefit from Martinez's absence.

Raphinha and Joao Felix should be selected wide of Robert Lewandowski in the final third of the field, with Pedri, Ilkay Gundogan and Frenkie de Jong as the midfield three.

Jules Kounde is again expected to feature at right-back, with Joao Cancelo on the left, meaning that Alejandro Balde might have to accept a position among the substitutes once again.

Barcelona possible starting lineup: Pena; Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Cancelo; F de Jong, Gundogan, Pedri; Raphinha, Lewandowski, Felix
