A report claims that Aston Villa are looking to sign West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jake Livermore, who could be available for a cut-price fee of £10m in the summer.

Steve Bruce will reportedly attempt to sign Jake Livermore from West Bromwich Albion if Aston Villa are promoted to the Premier League.

The Villans have plenty of work to do if they are to replace their West Midlands rivals in the top flight, having faltered in the race for a top-two finish.

According to The Sun, however, plans are already in place as to whom Villa can bring in during the summer if they do go up.

Livermore is said to be on the wanted list of former manager Bruce, who signed him when in charge of Hull City, but other teams are expected to show an interest.

The report claims that West Brom will accept £10m for the England international as they will need to trim their squad for a season of Championship football, which is now an inevitability.
