Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere would reportedly favour a move to West Ham United should he leave the club this summer in order to remain close to London.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has decided that he wants to remain near London if he leaves the club this summer, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium having spent last season out on loan at Bournemouth, where he made 27 Premier League appearances.

The Cherries are not thought to be in the race to sign Wilshere on a permanent basis, but of the interested parties Wilshere is understood to favour a move to West Ham United in order to stay close to the capital.

The Hammers have not yet made an official approach for the England international, though, having already brought in Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez this summer.

Serie A side Sampdoria and Turkish outfit Antalyaspor have made offers for Wilshere, but The Independent claims that the player is reluctant to move abroad having rejected a loan switch to Roma for similar reasons last season.

Arsenal are reportedly holding out for a £20m bid for Wilshere, who came through the ranks at the club and has made 159 appearances for the senior side.
