Brentford head coach Thomas Frank admits that it was "very nice" to have been linked with a switch to Arsenal.

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has admitted that it was "very nice" to have been linked with a switch to Arsenal, amid uncertainty regarding Mikel Arteta's long-term future.

After the Bees secured their first ever promotion to the Premier League last season, Frank's side have since enjoyed a bright start in the top flight this term, claiming 12 points from their first seven games, including an impressive 2-0 win against the Gunners on the opening day.

Over the last few months, Frank has been linked with a potential move to the Emirates, should Arsenal's form decline under Arteta, however the Danish boss has reiterated that he is happy at Brentford despite the rumours.

"So, I understand that well, but... Arsenal and [Manchester] United. Wasn't that how it was? I think I read that at some point. It's very nice, but one thing is rumours, and the other is if they really wanted to contact me. Then we have to take it from there," Frank told Danish news outlet Bold.

"I have a contact until 2023. I'm insanely happy at Brentford. It's [a] club that means a lot to me and where I have had great times. I enjoy working with our director of football, owners, players, staff and fans.

"It's the club who must come to me, but now we must see what the future brings. I know we have a mutual respect and a good relationship with each other on that."

Since replacing Dean Smith as Brentford's head coach in October 2018, Frank has been in the dugout for 156 matches across all competitions, winning on 78 occasions.
