Brentford goalkeeper David Raya outlines his ambitions to play for a 'big club' amid links with Arsenal.

Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has insisted that he is "happy" with life at Thomas Frank's side amid links with a move to Arsenal, but the Spaniard is dreaming of a switch to a 'big club' one day.

The Gunners boosted their shot-stopping ranks with the signing of Aaron Ramsdale in the summer, with the former Sheffield United man quickly becoming Mikel Arteta's number one.

As a result, Bernd Leno is being heavily linked with a move away from the club in 2022, with Raya reportedly a target for Arsenal should they dip into their war chest again next summer.

However, the 26-year-old is not considering an exit from Brentford just yet, telling Cadena SER: "I am happy at the club. I want to have a good season this year. In summer we will see what happens. My ambitions are great, I would like to play at the top. You always want to play for big clubs."

Raya has already kept three clean sheets in seven Premier League games during the 2021-22 season, taking his tally to the club to 37 shut-outs from 104 games in all tournaments.

The goalkeeper's existing deal with the Bees is due to expire in the summer of 2024.
