Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Arsenal on Tuesday, January 5.

The January transfer window is now open, with Arsenal continuing to be linked with a host of big names.

The Gunners have endured a torrid first half of the season and have been tipped to bolster their ranks this month - in addition to offloading out-of-favour players - in a bid to turn their campaign around.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Emirates Stadium.

Tuesday morning's Arsenal transfer talk news roundup:

Arsenal to recall Lucas Torreira from Atletico Madrid loan?

Arsenal are reportedly considering whether to end Lucas Torreira's loan period at Atletico Madrid.

Having failed to settle at the Gunners during his two-year spell in North London, Torreira was allowed to move to Wanda Metropolitano on a temporary basis.

However, the Uruguay international has been provided with just two starts and eight substitute appearances in La Liga and the Champions League.

According to La Nazione, Arsenal are ready to recall the 24-year-old in order to negotiate a deal with Fiorentina.

Aware that the player favours a move back to Serie A, the report suggests that Atletico are happy to part ways with Torreira at some point over the coming weeks.

Arsenal have reportedly touched base with Norwich City over a proposed player-plus-cash deal for playmaker Emiliano Buendia.

Despite the recent emergence of Emile Smith Rowe, the Gunners are still believed to be in the market for a new creative midfielder in the January transfer window.

Arsenal have also been linked with moves for Real Madrid's Isco and Borussia Dortmund's Julian Brandt, but a transfer for either player is not expected to come to fruition.

Now, The Independent claims that Buendia is a priority on Mikel Arteta's wishlist and Arsenal have made contact with Norwich over a potential deal this month.

The report adds that Reiss Nelson or Joe Willock could head to Carrow Road as part of a deal, although Daniel Farke recently affirmed that the £40m-rated Argentinian is "totally committed" to Norwich amid speculation regarding his future.

The 24-year-old already boasts seven goals and seven assists in the current Championship campaign and scored the winner for the Canaries in their 1-0 triumph over Barnsley on Saturday.
