Diego Maradona, Juan Sebastian Veron clash in charity match

Argentina legend Diego Maradona clashes with compatriot Juan Sebastian Veron during a 'Match for Peace' charity game organised by Pope Francis.

Argentina legend Diego Maradona clashed with compatriot Juan Sebastian Veron during a 'Match for Peace' charity game in Rome on Wednesday night.

Veron appeared to trip Maradona during the 40th minute of the game, which was organised by Pope Francis.

While the two players were leaving the pitch at half time, Maradona confronted Veron and had to be held back by security before going down the tunnel.

However, the pair, who worked together while Maradona was in charge of the Argentina national team, reportedly reconciled their differences at half time and refused to speak about the incident after the match.

The likes of Francesco Totti and Ronaldinho also played in the match, while Stoke City's Bojan Krkic scored a memorable chip to help Veron's side to a 4-3 victory.
