AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has given first-team manager Sinisa Mihajlovic his backing despite a disappointing start to the season.

The Rossoneri currently sit 14th in Serie A after losing half of their games this term, but Berlusconi has said that the club is confident for the rest of the campaign.

"There is absolute confidence in our coach, that is the style of Milan," he told Milan Channel. "I think I motivated the players today and gave them some basic advice too.

"We made important investment in the squad this summer, and I hope we will soon be rewarded for it with results. We are confident for the rest of the season."

AC Milan's next game takes place at the San Siro tomorrow, against a Sassuolo side which was lost just once this season.
