The Vamps leading way in UK albums chart

The Vamps are on course for top spot in the albums chart with new release Cherry Blossom.

The Vamps are on course for their second number one album, according to early figures provided by the Official Charts Company.

Cherry Blossom is outselling its two closest rivals combined based on the first 72 hours of chart sales and looks set to follow the four-piece's 2017 release of Night & Day (Night Edition) by hitting the top spot.

Irish crooner Daniel O'Donnell is tracking at number two with Daniel, which looks set to become his landmark 40th Top 40 album and would extend his record of having a top 10 album every year to 29 consecutive years.

The rest of the midweek top five is also made up by new entries, with Katie Melua's Album No.8 just behind O'Donnell at three, glam rock group The Struts at four with Strange Days and rocker Beabadoobee at five with Fake It Flowers.

On the singles chart, Headie One is on course to rise to number one with AJ Tracey and Stormzy collab 'Ain't It Different'.
