A main Hollyoaks character is killed off on Wednesday night's first-look episode.

Hollyoaks have confirmed the shock departure of Billy Price as Sid Sumner in tonight's first-look episode on E4.

The youngster had been working to expose evil drug boss Victor Brothers and was on his way to deliver damning evidence to the police when he was stabbed to death by Victor.

Sid's murder is the latest twist in the long-running County Lines drug storyline, which also saw Sid's cousin Jordan (‎Connor Calland) lose his life over the New Year period.

Price, 20, who has played the part for nearly two years, told the Daily Star: "I've had to keep it a secret. I couldn't post any stuff online.

"It was sad to film but I've had my fair few scenes laying on the cold, wet ground in Hollyoaks so I got used to the treacherous conditions.

"There was also something nice about the scene and the end of Sid's journey."

Hollyoaks continues weeknights on Channel 4 and E4.
