Chris Coleman keen to avoid England

Wales manager Chris Coleman believes that being placed in the same Euro 2016 group as England would be a "distraction".

Chris Coleman has admitted that he is keen for his Wales side to avoid being drawn in the same group as England for Euro 2016.

Wales have qualified for a major tournament for the first time in 58 years, and will learn who they face in the group stage of the tournament when the draw takes place tomorrow.

"Against anyone on our day, and we've proved it, we're a good team and difficult to play against," The Guardian quotes the manager as saying.

"But, if I'm honest, I'd prefer it if we didn't play England. That would be viewed as a battle of Britain and there would be a lot of things that go with it that could make it a distraction. We will play three games and we don't want it to all be about one of them."

Wales are in pot four for the draw, along with Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
