Manchester United chiefs reportedly take Jose Mourinho's side in his rumoured spat with Paul Pogba, informing the midfielder that he must obey his manager's instructions.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly been given the full support of Manchester United's hierarchy over his man-management of star midfielder Paul Pogba.

The 55-year-old recently left Pogba out of his starting lineup for consecutive games and hinted that he wanted to see a vast improvement in the midfielder's form.

Speculation soon emerged of the Frenchman wanting to leave Old Trafford in the summer following his breakdown in relationship with Mourinho.

United chiefs will stand by Mourinho regardless of whether Pogba stays or goes, though, with The Independent reporting that they are "completely behind" the manager, who recently signed a two-year contract extension.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is said to fully endorse Mourinho's approach when it comes to his handling of player welfare, and has made Pogba aware that he must follow his manager's instructions or leave.
