Real Madrid have reportedly "flatly denied" that they are interested in signing Paul Pogba on a free transfer from Manchester United this summer.

It was recently confirmed that the Frenchman would be leaving Old Trafford on a free transfer for a second time, having previously left the Red Devils upon the expiry of his contract back in 2012 too.

The 29-year-old made the move to Juventus back then, where he went on to be a success with the Serie A outfit, before United spent a then-world-record fee of £89m to bring the midfielder back to the Premier League in 2016.

However, Pogba's second stint in Manchester has proved to be a disappointing one for many, and Juventus look to be the frontrunners in acquiring his signature yet again this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are said to have made offers to the World Cup winner as well, although Spanish outlet El Chiringuito are reporting that Los Blancos are not interested in a move at this time.

The Champions League holders are said to be closing in on a move for fellow central midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco instead, who would be competing with the likes of Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Eduardo Camavinga for a place in Carlo Ancelotti's midfield.

During his six-year second spell at United, Pogba went on to make 226 appearances for the club, scoring 39 goals in the process.
