AC Milan, Inter Milan rival Manchester United for Sandro Tonali signing

Brescia president Massimo Cellino confirms that AC Milan and Inter Milan have enquired about midfielder Sandro Tonali, who has also been linked with Manchester United.

Brescia president Massimo Cellino has confirmed that AC Milan and Inter Milan have both made approaches to sign midfielder Sandro Tonali.

The 20-year-old is expected to leave Brescia this season having established himself as one of the brightest young players in Italy, with Manchester United among the clubs rumoured to be interested.

Inter Milan are thought to be leading the race for his signature, but Cellino has urged the Nerazzurri to finalise the deal amid rival interest from neighbours AC Milan.

"I appreciated the professionalism of Paolo Maldini, who is very much in the style of the historic Milan approach," Cellino told Sky Sport Italia.

"I don't want to add anything more on that, as I do not wish to be inopportune or too free with my words. Beppe Marotta always confirmed the strong interest that Inter have for the player, so I tried to avoid negotiations with other clubs, including ones from abroad.

"However, this lad needs to know what his future holds. I am in no rush, but Tonali is."

Tonali made 35 appearances for Brescia in Serie A last season and has earned three caps for Italy.
