Antony has been angered by Ajax's decision to declare that he will not be allowed to leave the club this summer, according to a report.

Antony has reportedly been angered by Ajax's decision to publicly declare that the Brazil international will not be allowed to leave the Dutch club before the end of the transfer window.

Manchester United are believed to be determined to sign the attacker in the current market, with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag keen on a reunion with the player that starred under him in Amsterdam.

A recent report claimed that Man United were still pursuing the 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals and registered 10 assists in 33 appearances in all competitions for Ajax during the 2021-22 campaign.

However, Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder recently said that he was not expecting the Dutch champions to sell any other important players before the end of the transfer window.

"We have sold a certain amount of players and I am expecting nobody else to leave. We talk on a daily basis. It would be very bad for us if we would lose another starting player," Schreuder told reporters.

Meanwhile, Ajax sporting director Gerry Hamstra insisted that the club would not be selling more key players.

"I know some of our players are still targeted and they are trying to pull them away," he told reporters. "But we are keeping the squad we have left. Nobody is going anywhere now. We have made it clear to the players, we have had big talks with the players who have a strong desire to leave the club at this moment.

"Let us make this clear, we did not even want to lose [Lisandro] Martinez, but the figures for the transfer fee were going to such heights that anyone in football knows how it works then.

"We had to let him go. But we still have massive ambitions at Ajax. We play in the Champions League and we can't afford to let go of six key players."

According to The Mirror, Antony and his agent Junior Pedroso have been angered by the situation, having already held discussions with Man United over a move to Old Trafford.

The Brazilian has represented his Dutch side on 78 occasions since arriving from Sao Paulo in July 2020, contributing 22 goals and 20 assists.

Antony, who has been on the sidelines with an ankle problem since March, is said to have had a close relationship with Ten Hag during his time in Amsterdam.

"I want to thank you for everything you taught me. Know that I will always stand with you if you need me," Antony posted on his social media account when Ten Hag left to take the job at Old Trafford.

According to talkSPORT transfer insider Alex Crook, there have recently been suggestions that Ajax would be willing to sell the right-sided forward for a fee in the region of €70m (£59.9m).

Man United are said to be looking to sign at least one attacker before the end of the transfer window, while they would be forced into the market for another striker if Cristiano Ronaldo were to depart.
