Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland has been made Barcelona's primary summer transfer target by president Joan Laporta, according to a report.

Newly-elected Barcelona president Joan Laporta is reportedly "obsessed" with the thought of signing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland.

Laporta saw off competition from Victor Font and Toni Freixa in a landslide victory to gain a second term at the Camp Nou helm earlier this week.

The 58-year-old succeeds Josep Maria Bartomeu and has a number of big issues to deal with in his first few months, the future of out-of-contract forward Lionel Messi being the most pressing of the lot.

Despite growing debts of close to €1bn (£859 million), Barca are also expected to strengthen their squad in the summer as they look to recover from another disappointing campaign.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Dortmund star Haaland has been made the Catalan giants' top target by Laporta.

Haaland has scored 47 goals in 47 games since joining BVB in January 2020 and is valued in the region of £100m.

The Norway international is also believed to be a target for Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Juventus.
