Former Bayern Munich president and current board member Uli Hoeness is confident that his club will sign Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane this summer.

Former Bayern Munich president and current board member Uli Hoeness is confident that the German champions will be able to sign Harry Kane during this summer's transfer window.

The Munich giants are currently seen as the firm favourites for the Tottenham Hotspur forward, who only has little over 11 months left to run on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Bayern have allegedly already had two offers for the 29-year-old turned down but are now preparing a fresh bid and are growing in confidence when it comes to securing his signature.

The Bundesliga outfit's head coach Thomas Tuchel refused to rule out a move for Kane when questioned on the situation during a press conference on Saturday afternoon.

Hoeness, who is Bayern's honorary president and deputy chairman of their supervisory board, has now suggested that the England captain wants to make the move to Allianz Arena this summer.

"He [Kane] signalled very clearly that his decision was made. And if it stays that way, we'll get him," Hoeness told Abendzeitung. "Levy is clever. First we have to get him to name a price.

"He plays for time, is a great professional. I appreciate him very much. But on the other side [at Bayern] there aren't any people who have been doing this since yesterday.

"He wants to play internationally [in Europe]. Tottenham won't be there next season, unlike our club. He now has another opportunity to come to a top club in Europe.

"What we really like about Kane is that his advisors, that is his father and his brother, are very pleasant. So far they have always stood by what they have promised. And if it stays that way, then that's okay."

Kane has travelled with Spurs on their Asia-Pacific tour, and it is understood that the forward will not actively push for a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

However, the forward is desperate to win trophies at this stage of his career and allegedly believes that he could help Bayern become serious contenders for the Champions League once again.

Bayern are in the market for a new number nine this summer, having not replaced Robert Lewandowski following the Poland international's switch to Barcelona last year.

Kane is still thought to be willing to signing a new deal at Spurs, although that will not happen while the transfer window remains open.

Manchester United had allegedly made the forward their number one target ahead of the opening of the window, but it soon became clear that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would refuse to sell the club's all-time leading goalscorer to a domestic rival.
