Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'to build Manchester United team around Paul Pogba'

A report claims that Paul Pogba's form has improved since being informed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that Manchester United's team will be built around him.

Paul Pogba has reportedly been told by boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he will be Manchester United's focal figure for as long as the Norwegian is in charge.

The 25-year-old has showed glimpses of his best form since Solskjaer succeeded Jose Mourinho in the Old Trafford dugout in December, scoring four goals and setting up four more in five appearances.

That is in stark contrast to a run of seven games without a goal or assist in Mourinho's final weeks in charge, at which point Pogba was in and out of the side.

According to The Sun, there is no risk of the France international dropping back down to the bench anytime soon as Solskjaer has offered assurances that he will build United's team around him.

A one-on-one meeting is said to have been held between the two men a few weeks ago, which helped to lift the midfielder's mood.

The publication quotes an insider as saying: "Paul has been given so much encouragement from Ole and is working harder. The new manager seriously believes Paul is the best midfielder in Premier League.

"He has given Paul the licence to do whatever he likes. The team operates around Paul now. He has told them all that if Paul plays well, then the team will do well in every game."

Pogba had previously been tipped to depart United this month, with a return to Juventus his favoured option, but that is no longer the case.
