Elche want Manchester United's Marcos Rojo?

Manchester United's Marcos Rojo, who is in the final six months of his Old Trafford deal, reportedly emerges as a transfer target for La Liga strugglers Elche.

La Liga strugglers Elche have reportedly joined the race to sign Manchester United outcast Marcos Rojo.

The 30-year-old only made one appearance for the Red Devils' Under-23s team this season before being sidelined through injury again, and his Old Trafford contract will expire in the summer.

Rojo is now free to enter discussions with other clubs, and the centre-back has been tipped to return to his native Argentina, with Boca Juniors thought to be leading the chase for his signature.

However, Spanish outlet Informacion claims that Rojo is one of three players that Elche have identified to solve their crisis at left-back.

The report adds that Rojo is Elche's number one target given his versatility, but the relegation-threatened Ilicitanos will face competition from Sheffield United and Newcastle United for his signature.

The former Sporting Lisbon man has made 122 appearances for the Red Devils since arriving in 2014, scoring two goals along the way.
