Good afternoon! Louis van Gaal will be talking to the press shortly as he prepares his Manchester United side for a match against old enemies Liverpool.

Man Utd have been in impressive form in recent weeks after a mixed start to the season. They've won their last five matches in the league, and with an out of sorts opponent this weekend, they will be hopeful of making it six in a row.

Here are a few images of the United squad in training earlier today:

After this match, United will travel to Aston Villa, before hosting Newcastle on boxing day, ahead of visits to Tottenham and Stoke City.

Van Gaal is ready to speak, so let's see what the manager has to say...

INJURIES! Van Gaal starts by announcing that Angel di Maria will miss the match, while Chris Smalling is also out for two weeks.

On the rest of his quad's availability, Van Gaal adds: "We have only four players injured so that is better than ever. We have Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Angel Di Maria and Daley Blind."

When asked about the rivalry between Man Utd and Liverpool, Van Gaal said that Ryan Giggs has been a great help: "I have an assistant manager in Ryan Giggs, and he presented an analysis of Liverpool and he did it in a marvellous way, so I'm very pleased."

Following criticism from former United captain Gary Neville, Van Gaal tells reporters: "I am not looking to the English TV so I am only concerned with expressions by you. I do not like that somebody who is living outside of the community of Manchester United can say how we are doing. It is based on no facts. I analyse everything when it is based on facts."

After announcing earlier that there are just four players missing, Van Gaal is asked whether Radamel Falcao could feature this weekend: He replies: "Yes. He could make a return."

When asked about the team's upcoming run of fixtures over the festive period, the manager simply replies: "It is not so easy."

That's all from Van Gaal for now, so make sure you join us again on Sunday to find out if Man Utd can make it six wins in a row. Until then, thanks for joining me this afternoon. Goodbye.
