Team News: Juan Mata, Marcos Rojo return for Manchester United against Hull City

Juan Mata and Marcos Rojo return for Manchester United's Premier League match with Hull City at Old Trafford, while Robin van Persie is preferred to Radamel Falcao.

Juan Mata and Marcos Rojo have returned to a Manchester United lineup which also includes Robin van Persie for the Premier League visit of Hull City today.

Rojo has not played since suffering a shoulder injury in the derby defeat to Manchester City, while Mata starts for the first time in a month in an attacking side.

The Spaniard will play behind a forward two of Wayne Rooney and Van Persie, who is preferred to Radamel Falcao even though the Colombian is fit again following further trouble with his knee

Michael Carrick will be asked to operate in a central defensive three alongside Rojo and Chris Smalling, with Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair benched, while Ashley Young replaces the injured Luke Shaw.

Former United captain Steve Bruce returns to Old Trafford for the 700th game of his managerial career, and makes two changes to the Hull side which suffered a late defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Bruce matches United's 3-5-2 formation as James Chester comes in for the banned Gaston Ramirez, while Mohamed Diame's return to fitness means that Tom Huddlestone is dropped for the first time this season.
