Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Manchester United will seek to end a three-game winless run in the Premier League when they welcome old foes Liverpool to Old Trafford for Sunday's battle.

The Red Devils have taken just one point from the last nine on offer in the top flight and fell to a dampening 4-2 defeat to Leicester City during their most recent domestic contest.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side enter this game on the back of a thrilling 3-2 Champions League comeback success over Atalanta BC, as none other than Cristiano Ronaldo rose highest to complete the turnaround.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Amad Diallo

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Liverpool)

Amad Diallo has returned to training after recovering from a thigh issue but did not make the squad to face Atalanta. However, the attacker could yet make himself available for the visit of the Reds.

Marcus Rashford

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Leg
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Liverpool)

Marcus Rashford sparked the Man United comeback against Atalanta before being taken off with a dead leg in the 65th minute, but Solskjaer hopes to have the Englishman available here.

Raphael Varane

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

Raphael Varane picked up a groin injury while representing France in the Nations League final earlier this month, and the defender has been ruled out of this contest.

Anthony Martial

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Liverpool)

A knock prevented out-of-favour attacker Anthony Martial from featuring against Atalanta - with the Frenchman returning from international duty with the problem - and it remains to be seen if he will be passed fit this weekend.

Fred

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Liverpool)

Fred lasted 88 minutes of the win over Atalanta before being forced off with a muscular issue, and an update on the midfielder's condition is yet to be provided, making him a major doubt for this one.
