Four players receive lengthy bans for their part in the latest match-fixing scandal to rock Italian football.

Four Italian players have been banned for their part in the latest match-fixing scandal to hit Italian football.

Atalanta Defender Andrea Masiello received the biggest punishment, a 26-month ban and heavy fine for six illegal activities committed while playing for Bari between 2008 and 2011.

Alessandro Parisi, Marco Rossi and Marco Esposito, all former teammates of Masiello, had their plea bargains accepted to claim reduced bans.

Parisi will be banned for two years, Rossi for 20 months, and Esposito for three months and 10 days.

Sampdoria and Bari will also start the 2012-13 season with one and five point deductions respectively for their misdemeanours.

Juventus manager Antonio Conte has had his plea bargain rejected and will face trial under a charge of failing to report match-fixing incidents while in charge of Serie B side Siena.
