Nicola Amoruso wants Edinson Cavani to replace Carlos Tevez at Juventus

Only Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani could adequately replace Carlos Tevez at Juventus, says former Bianconeri forward Nicola Amoruso.

Former Juventus striker Nicola Amoruso has said that only Edinson Cavani could fill the goalscoring void left by Carlos Tevez if he leaves the club this summer.

The Argentine has been linked with a return to his boyhood club Boca Juniors, who are reportedly battling with a Premier League club - thought to be Liverpool - for his signature.

Juve chief Giuseppe Marotta, who gave the 31-year-old until the end of this week to decide his future, recently claimed that he would sign Atletico Madrid forward Mario Mandzukic if he left.

The Bianconeri have already signed highly-rated striker Paulo Dybala this summer, but Amoruso, who spent six years at the club, says that only the Paris Saint-Germain hitman is fit to replace Tevez.

"Tevez is a player who is very difficult to replace," he said to Tuttomercatoweb. "Not only from a technical point of view, but also from a point of view of character.

"It's even more difficult because we do not know the future of Paul Pogba, but I think Juve have already prepared for this goodbye.

"Paulo Dybala is not the right man to replace Tevez. The only man for this difficult task is Cavani."

Tevez, whose contract expires next summer, has netted a combined 50 goals since joining the club in 2013.
