Preview: Inter Milan vs. Atalanta BC

Sports Mole previews the Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Atalanta, who have beaten the Italian giants on their last two visits to the San Siro.

Inter Milan have scored 13 goals in winning their last two home games, so it may be with some trepidation that Atalanta make the trip to the San Siro on Wednesday.

Walter Mazzarri's side smashed seven past Sassuolo last weekend, a fortnight after hitting six against Icelandic minnows Stjarnan in the Europa League.

Inter's home comforts have not been enough to see them keep up with early pacesetters Juventus and Roma, and two draws, the latest of which came at Palermo on Sunday, has critics already doubting their title credentials.

Atalanta's visit to the capital comes three days prior to a match with Serie A champions Juventus, and so Stefano Colantuono cannot really afford to rotate his squad if he hopes to pick up some unlikely points.

Richmond Boakye and German Denis are expected to keep former Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi on the bench, but Marco D'Alessandro may be dropped in favour of Alejandro Gomez in midfield.

Inter have plenty of options in the centre of the park, including Fredy Guarin, who has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League and is being tipped to leave Inter in the January transfer window.

The Colombian could be partnered by Hernanes, who was dropped at the weekend, and Gary Medel, who left Cardiff City to join the Italian giants in the summer after an impressive World Cup campaign with Chile.

Southampton flop Dani Osvaldo has scored twice since joining on loan and should continue to lead their line.

Inter have not won any of their last three home matches against Atalanta and lost this fixture 2-1 last season.
