Inter Milan's Felipe Melo banned for kick to Lucas Biglia's head

Felipe Melo is banned for three games after kicking Lazio's Lucas Biglia in the head in the latter stages of Sunday's Serie A match at San Siro.

Inter Milan midfielder Felipe Melo has been banned for three games for kicking an opponent in the head.

The Brazilian was shown a straight red card for hitting Lucas Biglia in the head with a kung-fu style kick towards the end of Inter's 2-1 Serie A defeat to Lazio on Sunday.

Melo will miss the January trips to Empoli and Atalanta, as well as the home match against Sassuolo in between.

With defeat, Inter missed the chance to stretch their gap at the top of the table to four points.
