With the pressure building on Frank Lampard at Chelsea, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is considered the favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has been installed as the bookies' favourite to succeed Frank Lampard at Chelsea.

The pressure is building on Lampard following a run of four defeats in six Premier League matches, seeing the Blues drop from first place to eighth in the space of a month.

Chelsea, who spent more than £220m on new recruits last summer, are seven points adrift of top spot having played a game more than pacesetters Liverpool and Manchester United.

According to reports, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is considering sacking Lampard and bringing in a replacement for the second half of the campaign.

The manager currently favourite to replace Lampard is Rodgers, who previously worked at the club as head coach of the academy during Jose Mourinho's first spell in charge.

Rodgers has since managed Watford, Reading, Swansea City, Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester.

Recently-departed Paris Saint-Germain head coach Thomas Tuchel is second favourite, meanwhile, and RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann is next on the list.
