Rio Ferdinand: 'John Terry never apologised to me or Anton'

Rio Ferdinand reveals that John Terry never apologised in person to him or his brother Anton following the racial abuse scandal in 2011.

Rio Ferdinand has hit out Chelsea defender John Terry for the "stupidity" of his actions following his alleged racial slur towards his brother Anton in 2011.

The incident occurred in the Blues' match with Queens Park Rangers in the 2011-12 season, where Terry was seen on television racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, according to the Football Association.

The Chelsea skipper was banned for four matches and find £220,000 by the FA for the incident, but he was cleared of the racially abusing the defender by Westminster Magistrates Court.

Rio has revealed that Terry never sought out him or his brother to apologise in person for the incident.

Ferdinand wrote in his autobiography, which has been serialised in The Sun: "He never apologised to me or to Anton. And he has never hinted that he has ever had a moment of understanding over the damage his stupidity had inflicted on everyone."

Terry retired from international football as a result of his ban and fine from the FA.
