Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek has died at the age of 80 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
The beloved presenter - host of the iconic US gameshow since 1984 - announced that he was suffering from the disease last year.
Just a few months ago Trebek was said to be responding well to treatment, however, and he had even been filming new episodes as recently as 11 days ago.
A spokesperson for the show told TMZ: "Jeopardy is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends."
Trebek's final episode of Jeopardy! will air in the US on Christmas Day.
