Bake Off winner John Whaite reveals "sexomnia" diagnosis

Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite reveals that he suffers from sexomnia, a condition that causes sexual behaviour while asleep.

Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite has revealed that he suffers from sexomnia, a medical condition that causes him to engage in sexual activity while he is asleep.

The 31-year-old, who won the 2012 edition of the contest, admitted that as a result of his sexomnia he has a tendency to grope his boyfriend in bed despite being fast asleep at the time.

"You have night terrors, I have night pleasures because I have sexomnia," he said on Steph's Packed Lunch.

"In the night, I'll be fast asleep... My boyfriend wakes up and I'll be fondling him. He's having the time of his life and I'm fast asleep."

Whaite continued: "When I lived in London I went to the doctors and he just said that's not a thing.

"But I went on a doctor website and it's real thing. It was in Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria had it!"

Sexomnia is typically limited to masturbation and fondling but some sufferers can also have full sexual intercourse while asleep.
