Natalie Cassidy suggests that Dotty's upcoming exit from EastEnders may be an eventful one.

Natalie Cassidy has suggested that Milly Zero's upcoming exit as Dotty in EastEnders may be an eventful one.

Dotty will be departing Albert Square in the very near future, days after her grandmother Dot Branning (June Brown) was laid to rest.

Cassidy's Sonia has had an up-and-down relationship with Dotty during her time in Walford - and tensions between the pair are high again ahead of Dot's will reading.

Talking about Dotty's final days, Cassidy said: "She's Nick Cotton's daughter, at the end of the day, so there's going to be some fireworks, that's for sure.

"We find out some information towards the end of the week, and Dotty isn't happy about it!"

Dot's funeral also marked the start of a potential new relationship for Sonia, who met - and subsequently spent the night with - Dot's great-nephew Reiss (Jonny Freeman).

"This absolute character Reiss comes into the Square, and he and Sonia really hit it off," Cassidy continued.

"What's really lovely is that Reiss sort of pops into Sonia's life in a time of real sadness and emotion and loss and grief, and out of it comes some humour and some light relief as well, which is very well done."

EastEnders continues this week on Thursday and Friday on BBC One.
