Coronation Street star Todd Boyce has revealed that his character Stephen "really wants to harm" Carla (Alison King) in upcoming episodes.

In recent months Stephen has become increasingly unhinged, first bumping off Leo (Joe Frost) and then his dad Teddy (Grant Burgin) - and now he looks set to have his sights on his boss Carla.

Last week Carla humiliated Stephen in front of one of his old contacts, Dick Haversham, when she clarified his position as that of a mere employee, and in shocking scenes to be broadcast next week, Stephen gets his own back by spiking her drinks with LSD.

"She has done the worst thing that anyone could really do to Stephen. She has made him look and feel small in front of other people," Boyce told the Radio Times.

"She had him working in packing when Dick Haversham came round and he was so humiliated. He really wants to harm her business and her reputation and he has no qualms about what he is planning to do."

He continued: "Sarah brought [Carla's mental health issues] up in the pub and it drops like a bombshell as far as he is concerned and because of the way she has humiliated him he knows that he can use it for his own gain."

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
