Former Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow joins a new business investment series called Unicorn Hunters.

Former Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow has joined the panel of business reality show Unicorn Hunters.

In the online show, a rotating panel of seasoned investors and experts listen to pitches from business owners who believe that their company could be the next "unicorn", which is a business valued at $1 billion or more.

Panellists on the first season included Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, singer Lance Bass and Moe Vela, the former director of administration for Joe Biden.

Not only can members of the expert panel choose to invest in a business, but the viewing public can also get financially involved by investing via the show's website.

"Unicorn Hunters is a fantastically entertaining show and I'm delighted to be joining the panel on its mission to open up investment opportunities to the public," said Bercow, who presided over the Commons from 2009 to 2019.

"I'm particularly looking forward to welcoming entrepreneurs from the UK in this season."

Bercow will begin filming the show in August, while the first season can be streamed now on the official website.
