Barney Walsh will star opposite his dad Bradley Walsh in the upcoming reboot of The Darling Buds of May, The Larkins.

Bradley Walsh's son Barney Walsh is to appear alongside him on the upcoming reboot of The Darling Buds of May.

The family drama originally ran for three series in the early '90s and starred David Jason and Pam Ferris as the parents of the Larkin family, while the show was also responsible for giving Catherine Zeta-Jones her big break.

The rebooted series - again airing on ITV and now known as just The Larkins - will see The Chase host Bradley in the Pop Larkin role, while his son Barney will play a village policeman.

The duo already appear together in the popular adventure travelogue series Bradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad, while Barney has previously had a small part opposite his dad in Law & Order: UK.

A source told The Sun of the casting: "Pairing Bradley and Barney adds to the growing anticipation for this reinvention of a show which holds a special place in the hearts of a generation of viewers."

The Larkins is currently being filmed and could air later this year on ITV.
