Danish broadcaster under fire for kids show about 'man with world's largest penis'

Danish broadcaster DR courts controversy with a new kids TV series about a man with a large penis.

Danish broadcaster DR has been criticised for launching a new animated kids TV series about a man with "the world's longest pee-pee".

John Dillermand features the titular character using his large penis, which is concealed inside his stripy pyjamas, in a number of adventures.

In the intro clip for the series, Dillermand is seen utilising his penis to go fishing, help put out a fire and even whack a lion around the face.

Defending the show against a backlash from angry parents, DR said in a post on Facebook: "We think it's important to be able to tell stories about bodies. In the series, we recognise [young children's] growing curiosity about their bodies and genitals, as well as embarrassment and pleasure in the body."
