Channel 4 announces details of a special hour-long episode of Hollyoaks airing next month.

Channel 4 has announced plans for a special one-hour episode of Hollyoaks for next month.

In the episode, which was filmed over the course of two months, disaster strikes at the Salon du The, where Marnie (Lysette Anthony) is hosting the Dee Valley Heroes fundraiser.

Guests present at the event include Martine (Kelle Bryan), Cleo (Nadine Mulkerrin), Toby (Bobby Gordon), Celeste (Andrea Ali), Peri (Ruby O'Donnell), Romeo (Owen Warner), Cher (Bethannie Hare), Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe), Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw) and Jack (Jimmy McKenna).

"This episode is not to be missed, sparks will fly in more ways than one," teased Ali, whose character Celeste will get caught up in the drama. "Filming the stunt was beyond amazing, I finally got to live out my inner Lara Croft. I just hope the audience enjoy watching it half as much as we enjoyed filming it."

Hare, who plays Cher, added: "Expect drama, tension and tears in Hollyoaks' upcoming stunt. It's going to affect a lot of people in the village, bringing loved ones and family members' closer together, but tearing others apart... it's not to be missed!"

The episode will play out on E4 on Tuesday, January 11 and on Channel 4 on Wednesday, January 12.
